Curious, creative, conceptual, commercial, connecting.

For the love of creating

As a child I discovered the magic of making things. After my first blouse at ten, decades later I still feel a profound sense of satisfaction when all details of a new product, collection or brand fall into place.
It’s not just about making better things. It’s as much about making things better and more beautiful. For all people involved, for the planet. This is why collaborating in a fair trade and sustainable manner has always felt like the logical choice.

Into design & global crafts

Driven by my curiosity and the blouse-making magic, I attended Design Academy Eindhoven (formerly AIVE) in the Netherlands. After graduation, I cultivated my sense for trend and style and my design skills, consulting the European home decor industry.
Soon I got the chance to combine my fascination for crafts and cultures with my desire to contribute to society; designing and developing collections with fair trade artisans worldwide and becoming an expert in global crafts.

Building a coherent whole

My satisfaction stems not only from designing a near-perfect product but also from creating a coherent ‘story’. Structuring an assortment, connecting production possibilities with market needs and aligning presentation and communication with the collection to create a clear brand identity is a complex puzzle that demands collaboration across different cultures. With over 30 years of experience in the sector, I enjoy this complexity.
